Chris on BBQ duties

On Sunday some of our ladies visited Coldingham Loch for a ladies only fly fishing day.

We’d decided to fish the evening session as often at this time of year it’s the best time to be fishing… our aim was to hopefully catch the evening rise and land some crackers on dry fly.

The day began with a BBQ cooked by resident chef Chris Foreman before we tackled up and headed onto the loch, fishing a mixture of boat and bank fishing.

It was warm, very warm – possibly one of the warmest days of the year and the ladies struggled, alongside other anglers trying every method they could to successfully land Mr Trout.

Finally, towards the end of the session Steph got lucky and landed a 2lb Rainbow. Well done Steph!

Thanks again must go to Coldingham Loch management, Gareth and Carmel – we’re hoping for better fishing weather next time! Thanks must also go to Foreman’s Butchers and Chris Foreman who cooked our BBQ to perfection.

Next event: Sweethope Loughs, Sunday 4th August. Can’t wait!

7-year-old Millie and Lucy
