11 year old Ruby Warf

We are very pleased to announce that following a revision of our membership fees, junior club membership in 2012 is now free.

We are also pleased to announce that membership for 17-21 years olds is only £5, over 21′s and associate members are £10 for the year.

All membership fees are due in by 31st December 2011.

Held at the Britannia Hotel in Newcastle, three members of the Fishing For Everyone Ladies Fishing Club, Lucy Bowden, Rebecca Thorpe and Jane Johnston, along with former Chairman of the Hirst Park Trout Ticklers Club, Cate Middleton attended the event.

During the evening, Lucy and Rebecca (who is also Chairman of the Derbyshire branch of the Salmon & Trout Association) helped sell raffle tickets and both were extremely impressed with the kindness and generosity of all attendees.

Some fantastic prizes were donated towards the raffle and auction and the FFE Ladies Fishing Club donated a day’s fishing with the club in 2012.

Following dinner, International Fisheries Consultant, Peter Gray gave an informative speech prior to the raffle and auction.

FFE Club Founder & Chairman, Lucy Bowden said;

“As a Club we are pleased to be able to support such a worthwhile organisation as the S&TA. For the past few years Rebecca and I have helped sell raffle tickets at the event and, as always this year there were some fantastic prizes donated from various people and organisations towards both the raffle and auction. I’m also pleased that this year, as with last year the Club were able to donate a prize which was won by Northumbrian Waters’ Communication and PR Manager, Alastair Baker. Congratulations Alastair!

“Finally, a huge congratulations goes to the S&TA committee, especially their Secretary, Carole Sanderson who, as always did such a fantastic job… enjoy your new fishing rod Carole!”

Although the total amount raised is yet to be fully confirmed, it is likely to be £1,500+ which is a staggering amount of money and will be used for the Associations’ junior fishing days.

We are already looking forward to next year. See you all there!

On Sunday 30th October we held a junior and ladies day at Chatton Trout Fishery, Chatton.

The event ran 11am – 3pm and gave all juniors and ladies the opportunity to fish together under the supervision of qualified female Level 1 and 2 Coaches and Instructors including Rebecca Thorpe, Lucy Bowden, Jenny Lindley and Carmelle Hook.

Twelve ladies attended the fly fishing event and, although the bright, cold weather didn’t help the fishing, all had great fun and Lynne and Jenny’s cakes at lunchtime added to the day!

A superb day, thank you ladies!

The Club would like to inform all members that although we will not be holding a Christmas Dinner this year, we will instead be holding a start of season meal in the spring. Details of which will be issued shortly.

Coaching at one of our Chatton events

On Sunday 30th October we are holding a fly fishing event at Chatton Trout Fishery, Chatton.

All members and non members are welcome to attend:  juniors fishing 12 – 3pm and adults 11am – 3pm.

Free equipment hire and coaching from qualified level 2 female angling coaches is available if required.
